Dr. Sabha Ganai is a board-certified surgical oncologist with expertise in the multidisciplinary management of pancreas, hepatobiliary (liver, gallbladder, and bile ducts), and foregut (stomach and esophagus) tumors, thyroid and parathyroid disease, as well as retroperitoneal sarcomas and gastrointestinal stromal tumors. She is facile in minimally-invasive surgery and was first to perform the HIPEC (hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy) procedure in Central and Southern Illinois. Her academic interests are focused on rural cancer disparities, health geographics, ethics, surgical education, and translational research examining the biology of metastasis.
Dr. Sabha Ganai holds national leadership positions as an active committee member for the Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract, Association for Academic Surgery, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, and the Society for Surgical Oncology. She seeks to provide compassionate care and serve the surgical needs of patients with cancer in rural America.
